What I Do

Rediscovering How to Listen

Pianist, Teacher, Composer, Arranger.

These four words are perhaps the best buzzwords that describe my life as a professional musician. Anyone who lives in the arts knows that one path is never enough.  One must explore as many opportunities as their schedule can allow.  Then, of course, accept even more jobs and become stressed every time they look at their schedule. For my journey into the professional arts, I have focused my abilities into four distinct skills that both open their own path while also complementing each other. This journey began with piano lessons at a young age.  It exponentially in college where I dove into music theory and began writing solo works, chamber pieces, and even a musical. Then my journey reached new heights in graduate school where I refined my ability to compose and instruct others in their musical journey.  Now I am writing solo works for all abilities, chamber works for the ensembles I am involved with, and I am arranging for professional theater companies.  All of this while I am still refining my abilities as a pianist and teacher.

My passion is composing; my specialty is arranging; my voice is the piano; and I perform by teaching.
